8/15/17 OFFSHORE EXPLORATION

At 10:00am, we got some great bait from Hooks landing (50/50 mix of very large sardines and mackerel) and set off to look for some tropical exotics. Water was warm on the nearby high spots 68-69.8*. Found some very nice kelp paddies that had Dorado on them. Hard part was finding the ones that wanted to eat. By 1:00pm, the bite really turned on and everyone had a 15-20# Dorado within an hour. We went 4/4 on the Dorado. Congratulations to Ashley, Andrew, and Katie on your first Dorado. I hope your burnt thumb is feeling a little better Katie. You learned the hard way not to try to use you thumb for drag especially with spectra line.
